Getting Here: Clare Island is situated in
the mouth of Clew Bay in County Mayo. The nearest
town to the Island is Westport. From Westport you
must make your way to the South of the Bay past
the small town of Louisburg to Roonagh pier. Signposts
for Roonagh will appear after Louisburg. From Roonagh
Pier you can purchase tickets to travel on either

Travelling Around: The island at a area of
approximately fifteen square miles is easily accessible
to walkers, though you should be warned that there
is only one shop and one payphone on the island
so make sure to pack food and water if you plan

Places to Stay: Clare Island has many places
to stay including a Hotel, B&B's and campsite.
The Hotel is situated near the harbour as you follow
the beach around from the pier, there are signposts
to lead the way. There are numerous B&Bs to
